Why is it important to have a morning routine or ritual?
Do you wake up in the morning and hope that today is going to be a good day and then as you are walking to the bathroom kick the door(accidentally) and hurt your toe. You think “oh crap” which starts your day off with negative thought and the the day just turns from bad to worse.
What if I told you that by having a morning routine could mean that most day would be good days. Sure you are still going to have the occasional bad one, that’s life.
I’ll tell you what I do for me morning routine so you get some idea what I am talking about.
When my alarm goes off get up have a glass of water then do my exercises. That takes about 10-15 minutes. I then make some porridge and while that’s cooking I make my lunch. As I eat my breakfast I read over my goals and thinks about them. Following that I do do the bathroom stuff. Then off to work. On the drive to work I will listen to inspirational audio filling my mind and body with positive energy.
This start my day in a way that lead to having a good or great day. Which lead to comments from the guys at work like. “why are you always so happy?” or “It’s good have you around?”
I suggest you try starting a morning routine. You don’t have to do exactly what I do but you do need to do something so you can start your day in a positive way. You may also want to start with one or two thing and then increase what you do as you get used to it.
Yes I also realise that you may have kids or others in the house that can interrupt your routine. But maybe you could get up a little earlier to insure that you can have some time to yourself before you start your day.
